Canadian Roots Exchange

About Us

Canadian Roots Exchange is a national, non-profit organization whose mission is to build bridges between Indigenous & non-Indigenous youth in Canada by facilitating dialogue and strengthening relationships through leadership programs, exchanges, and gatherings. We believe in a Canada where youth stand in solidarity to promote respect, understanding, and reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.

Rural Youth Reconciliation Initiative

This project will engage rural young leaders aged 18 to 29 from across the country, building a national network of young leaders realizing their own transformative visions of community building.

Rural teams of Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth leaders will work together over three months to plan and implement a community project within their respective communities. The first teams in Lloydminster, AB; Kamloops, BC; and Kangirsuk, QC have been launched and recently completed a 4-day training outside of Montreal, supported by Equitas.

More information about the teams' projects coming soon!
